Base Camp Vega offer accommodation in unique ‘eider houses for people’, 20 specially built cabins that preserve Vega’s history and character in a very special way. The cabins are inspired by the eider business that has characterized the Vega Islands for hundreds of years.
The ‘Eider houses’ have a simple standard without a toilet, but have electricity. The cabins are uninsulated, but have a heater installed. They have a spectacular location with fantastic views of the sea, the sunset and the island Søla.
The ‘Eider houses’ are one room with good beds for 2 people, and they are offered with made beds and towels. There is no space for extra beds, but children under the age of 8 can stay with their parents.
The barn below the e-houses has been converted into a restaurant – Ravnen Pub and Spiseri. Breakfast in the Ravnen can be ordered together with the e-houses, and there are dinner and refreshment options there!
Sleeping outdoors – comfortably under a roof
The Eider Duck houses offer a simple standard where you get the feeling of living under a roof in nature.
The bathrooms are conveniently close by. The barn’s lower floor, located close to the cabins, has been converted into a modern sanitary facility for our overnight ‘eider ducks’. It has a good capacity with 10 showers and 10 toilets.
Restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Don’t worry about cooking; in the barn, you’ll find the Ravnen Pub & Restaurant, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served every day. You can order breakfast along with the “e-houses,” and also gather there for both lunch and dinner. Convenient and pleasant!
On nature´s terms – Gently built cabins
The Eider Duck houses are situated on wooden platforms that have been gently constructed to blend with nature and are well-integrated into the terrain above the actual base camp, the magnificent old farm.
Wooden stairs and plank paths have been built from the farm leading up to the e-houses, just a maximum of a minute and a half away!
Terrace to unwind and enjoy the view
Outside the e-houses, there is ample space for relaxation on private terraces equipped with double wooden benches and accompanying tables. Fantastic views for everyone!
Eider houses with comfortable beds and down duvets
The Eider Duck houses feature a single room with space for 2 people, cozy and practical with made-up beds and provided towels.
The cabins, known as “E-houses,” are 9 m² with two single beds measuring 2 m x 90 cm, which can easily be joined to form a double bed. Our guests highly appreciate the comfortable beds with mattress toppers and down duvets.
Practical information: there is ceiling lighting, a quadruple power outlet, and a 500 W heater. Practical shelves and hooks are on the walls. Unfortunately, there is no possibility for an extra bed, but children under 8 years may stay with their parents.
