Eider house for people – ehouse
Accommodation in unique cabins inspired by the eider business that has characterized the Vega Islands for hundreds of years
Plenty of space outside
Base Camp Vega offer accommodation in unique ‘eider houses for people’, 20 specially built cabins that preserve Vega’s history and character in a very special way. The cabins are inspired by the eider business that has characterized the Vega Islands for hundreds of years.
The ‘Eider houses’ have a simple standard without a toilet, but have electricity. The cabins are uninsulated, but have a heater installed. They have a spectacular location with fantastic views of the sea, the sunset and the island Søla.
The ‘Eider houses’ are one room with good beds for 2 people, and they are offered with made beds and towels. There is no space for extra beds, but children under the age of 8 can stay with their parents.
The barn below the e-houses has been converted into a restaurant – Ravnen Pub and Spiseri. Breakfast in the Ravnen can be ordered together with the e-houses, and there are dinner and refreshment options there!
The cabins are 9 square meters with two single beds of 2 m x 90 cm that can easily be strapped together into a double bed. Very good mattresses with mattress topper and duvets. There is a light point inside, 4-double socket and heater of 500 W. There are both shelves and pegs for hanging clothes.
Outside the e-houses there is a good living area with a double wooden bench with an accompanying table.
The cabins are located on wooden plots in the terrain above the ‘base camp’ which is the farm where BCV is located. Wooden stairs and plank paths have been built from the farm to the cabins.
The lower floor of the barn on the farm has been converted into a sanitary facility that can be used by our overnight ‘eider birds’. There are 10 showers and 10 toilets in the sanitary facility.
